TRACEY OLDHAM
Using oil on board and sometimes incorporating a collage and mixed media element into her practice, the surface of Tracey’s work is often one of the first most luring aspects, luxurious, glassy and extremely tactile, it becomes impossible not to want to touch each piece. Relocating to Cornwall 12 years ago, after studying in Leeds for her BA in Fine Art, meant a dramatic change in scenery. Always being influenced by the city’s buildings and architecture around her, Tracey’s work developed and adapted to her new rural coastal environment, but by being loyal to her strong lines and use of colour, Tracey’s work is still distinctly recognisable as hers. She loves finding those not so obvious Cornish spots, alleyways lined with dustbins, mid century apartment blocks and colourful shopfronts.
